Re: USSA Rescinding Contracts with our venues
Over the past several weeks representatives from the Canadian Power Toboggan Championships, Bonnechere Cup, Grand Prix Ski-doo Valcourt, and Wausau 525 have met to discuss the proposed ProStar Cup agreements USSA provided for the 2025-26 Race Season. Collectively as a group we feel we have not received appropriate solutions to the questions that have arose, specifically in regards to the season schedule, running of the tour and driver payout.
In a formal response to an additional effort made by the four organizations to address the concerns, USSA sent a statement which concluded by them withdrawing all of the ProStar Cup Tour contracts from our venues.
As a collective group of ice oval venues, and promoters of the sport, we want the race community to know that we are going ahead with plans for a full race season. The four venues are committed to working together with transparency, mutual respect, and a renewed focus on what matters most: the teams, the fans, and the long-term health of ice oval racing. Our goal is simple: to give back to the racers, honour the history of the sport, and build a better future together. All of the regular dates are in place for this upcoming season at our facilities as we look forward to an exciting and competitive season.
We want to assure teams and fans that this is not the end — it’s a new beginning. We are exploring new formats for 2025-2026 and already laying the groundwork for an even stronger 2026-2027 season. In the meantime keep us all on your calendar. Winter is coming and we are going racing.
We’ll see you on the ice.
Sincerely,
